"Rhythm as Gesture" Class

Ideas for embodying rhythm of any song:

- step (or sway) along to the first beat you feel

- see if you can feel the beat twice as big or twice as small, and step to that

- switch between first beat and the next level you found

- keep stepping to chosen beat and add eighth notes in your hands (clap or tap on your leg)

- switch eighth note pulse to your feet (step those) and clap what you were stepping

- do any of the above while speaking sixteenth notes (on da, or one-ee-and-a)

- create your own variations!
